I Lost the Key to My House

I went out with some friends not that long ago. It started out as a normal night, and we had a good time catching up with one another. It was not until I got dropped off at home that I realized I had lost my house key somewhere. Just about everyone I know has a key hidden somewhere outside, or they have someone close to them hold a spare key. I had done neither of those things, so my only resource was to find a 24 hour locksmith near Brisbane who would be able to come out pretty quickly since I did not want to be stranded outside all night.

Okay, that is a bit dramatic, because I did have a phone. I could have called several different people to come get me and let me stay at their house, but I just wanted to wait on my front porch since the locksmith I had found said it would not take very long for them to get to my place. Luckily, it was only my house key that was lost and not my entire purse. I was easily able to identify myself as the person who lives there since I had photo ID.

The locksmith gave me a few different options. I decided that I just wanted to have the entire lock changed because I had no idea where I lost the key. I did not want someone finding it and knowing that it was mine. That would have given them free access to my house, and that was just too creepy for me to even think about. Instead, the locksmith changed the front and back locks, and I had new keys within 30 minutes of his arrival. I am so grateful I was able to find someone close to me to help me out!
